Confirmations

I photograph confirmations the same way I photograph weddings — documentary style, no staged shots. What I'm after is what's actually happening: the tension before walking into the church, the moment of blessing, the pride in the parents' eyes, the laughter and emotion around the family table.

For the child and the whole family, this is a day that happens once — so I try to stay close, but unnoticed, so no one has to pose and everyone can simply live the day.

Before the confirmation, I talk with the family — learning the plan for the day, the location of the ceremony, and what matters most to you, so I don't miss the moments that count.

I'm there from the preparations, through the ceremony itself, to the first moments of the celebration afterward — quietly, without fuss.
