I don't arrange people into borrowed poses, and I never ask anyone to perform an emotion they don't feel. As an event and reportage photographer, I am, first and always, a witness — my task is simply to be in the right place at the right moment, ready for the instant that will only ever happen once.

My work unfolds at weddings, christenings, confirmations, and the countless gatherings where life insists on being lived rather than arranged. What matters there is momentum and truth, not the tidy geometry of a perfectly balanced frame. I live in Copenhagen, though that same quiet attentiveness follows me well beyond the events I photograph. Nature, landscapes, dogs at rest or mid-stride — none of it is composed or coaxed. It's patience, mostly: the long, unhurried wait for a moment to arrive on its own terms. I travel a great deal, and images from those journeys, Madagascar among them, have found their way into the pages of travel catalogues.
